Changelog
Dojo Forge is being built school by school. This page is the receipt: what works today, what's being tested, what's next, and everything that has come off the anvil so far.
What's live, what's in beta, what's planned
In beta
Online dues and family autopay
Card payments and family autopay, paid out to your school's own bank account, with receipts and retries on failed payments.
Leads and trial booking
A website lead form, a lead pipeline, automatic follow-up emails, a trial-booking page with reminders, self-reschedule, and student referral links.
Automatic lead follow-up
Every new enquiry gets an email reply within seconds, then friendly check-ins for two weeks. It stops as soon as the family replies, so you take it from there.
Text and push announcements
Announcements by text message and push notification, for families who opt in.
Win-back emails
An automatic “we miss you” note to students who have drifted away.
Mobile app
Dojo Forge on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets, for staff and families.
Check-in kiosk
A tablet at the front door where students check themselves in, even when the internet drops.
Planned
Dojo Forge AI
The AI won't be a feature inside Dojo Forge; it will be Dojo Forge. It knows every student, every belt and every family, notices what you'd notice if you had time, and handles the follow-through so you can stay on the mat.
Text and phone lead follow-up
The same automatic follow-up by text message, plus calls from new families answered while you're on the mat.
A fresh website for your dojo
A new website for your school, wired straight into your leads and trial booking.
Training videos in the family portal
Curriculum videos families can watch between classes.
Pro shop in the family portal
Gear and uniforms, ordered right from the portal.
Live now
Attendance
Roll call on a tablet or phone, absences marked automatically after class, and make-up check-ins.
Cold-student alerts and follow-ups
Students who start missing classes get flagged on thresholds you set, and every one gets a follow-up you can log, snooze, or close.
Attendance reports and trends
Show-up rates by class, rank and student, trend charts, slipping-streak detection, CSV export, and a printable report.
Belts, stripes and exams
A belt ladder per martial art with stripes and Dan grades, eligibility by time in rank, exam results, and congratulations emails.
Schedule and events
Day, week and month calendar with calendar export, one-off events with family sign-up, and single-class cancellations that notify families.
Family portal
One login per family: belt progress, attendance, events, dues, news, and one-tap absence reporting.
Digital waivers
Versioned waivers signed by email or in the portal, stored and exportable as PDF.
Dues tracking
Membership plans, paid-through dates, front-desk payments, and overdue flags.
Announcements
Email and in-app announcements to the families you pick, scheduled ahead, with a delivery log.
Staff and multiple locations
Owner, manager and instructor roles, team invites, an audit log, and a switcher for schools with more than one location.
Review requests
An automatic ask for a Google review after a promotion or a family's first two weeks.
On your phone's home screen
Install Dojo Forge from your phone's browser, plus optional two-factor login and a guided tour.
What shipped, month by month
September 2026
Keep every student on the mat
- A retention follow-up queue: every at-risk student gets a follow-up you can log contact on, snooze, or close.
- Attendance trends and pattern detection that spot slipping streaks, falling attendance, and on-and-off skipping, with a printable report and a praise list for the students who show up.
- Smarter at-risk flags: students are judged by classes missed since they were last seen, on thresholds you set, and a day with several missed classes counts once.
- Safer roll call: a warning before you leave unsaved attendance, a last-saved clock, and undo.
- Attendance reports filter by class, rank, and attendance rate.
- Install Dojo Forge on your phone's home screen straight from the browser.
- Fixes: imported students start on your first belt, and you confirm before skipping a belt or archiving a student.
August 2026
Kiosks, announcements, and a new look
- A redesigned look and a new logo.
- Announcements to families by email and in-app, scheduled ahead, with a delivery log.
- Class recap cards, absences marked automatically after class, and a review queue for check-ins that need a person to look at them.
- Cancel a single class date and every enrolled family is told automatically.
- Families can sign up for events themselves, read school news in the portal, and choose how they're contacted.
- In beta: pair a tablet as a check-in kiosk, with make-up check-ins and a 30-minute early-arrival window.
- In beta with a founding school: a trial-booking page, trial reminders with calendar invites, self-reschedule, review requests, and student referral links.
- An optional guided tour of the app.
July 2026
Rebuilt from the ground up
- All-new students, attendance, schedule, and home dashboard screens.
- Dues tracking: membership plans, paid-through dates, and front-desk payments. Online payments and family autopay entered beta.
- The family portal: one login per family for belt progress, attendance, instructor notes, dues, absence reporting, and waiver signing.
- A day, week, and month calendar that exports to personal calendars.
- Exam types with results and congratulations emails; belt stripes, Dan grades, and a separate belt ladder for each martial art.
- Students who stop showing up get flagged, plus per-student attendance reports with CSV export and make-up check-ins.
- Owner, manager, and instructor roles with team invites and an audit log, multiple locations, and optional two-factor login.
April to May 2026
